ADULT Wingspan 15-20mm.  An attractive moth with a buff foreground to the forewings with distinguishing features such as the dark grey kidney mark with a deep brown triangular mark between it and the leading edge and a brown cross band towards the outer edge that has several white dots inside it.
CHRYSALIS N/A
LARVA Feeds on Ploughmans Spikenard, Common Restharrow and Sticky Groundsel as well as cultivated Marigolds.
BEHAVIOUR Attracted to light and nectar.
HABITAT Mainly coasts although occasionally seen inland.
FLIGHT PERIOD Mainly June to August.
STATUS Immigrant. More common in the south.
