| ADULT |
Wingspan - 34 - 40mm. A plain and variable moth that can have both dark and light groundcolours to the wings with pale outlines to all markings. The most distinctive features are two large stigmata each edged by a narrow pale line, with a similarly coloured subterminal line. Occasionally a dark crossband is seen on the wings. |

Variable shades of green with a fine white to yellow speckling and a long white stripe along each side. Feeds on various deciduous trees including Oak and Sallow. |

Attracted to light. |

Woods, parks, gardens, coasts and scrub. |

Single brooded. March to April. |
| STATUS |
Common resident becoming more localised towards Northern Scotland. |
