| ADULT | Wingspan 25-30mm. A small grey eggar with two dark wavy crosslines that surround a darker area. The flight period and size distinguish this moth from other closely related species. |
| CHRYSALIS | Pupates in a loose cocoon amongst leaves. |
| LARVA | Feeds on a variety of shrubs but primarily Hawthorn and Blackthorn. |
| BEHAVIOUR | Attracted to light. |
| HABITAT | Heaths, coasts and woodland edges. |
