ADULT Wingspan 25-30mm.  A small grey eggar with two dark wavy crosslines that surround a darker area. The flight period and size distinguish this moth from other closely related species.
CHRYSALIS Pupates in a loose cocoon amongst leaves.
LARVA Feeds on a variety of shrubs but primarily Hawthorn and Blackthorn.
BEHAVIOUR Attracted to light.
HABITAT Heaths, coasts and woodland edges.
FLIGHT PERIOD August to October.
STATUS Locally common throughout
