Wingspan 25-38mm. A rather pretty moth with a yellowish-straw ground colour to the forewings broken by two pale brown gently curving crosslines. The hindwings are whitish with a grey line running across each. |

Pupates in a loose cocoon amongst leaves. |

Overwinters in this stage. |

Attracted to light. |

Coastal grassy heaths, shingle beaches, dry grassy areas and saltmarsh. |

Two generations. May to June and August to September. |

Locally common in southern Britain. |
