| ADULT |
Wingspan 28-34mm. The forewings are a
a nice warm greyish-brown with occasional lilac tinges and dark brown
cross-bands with a dark brown triangular patch near the wing tip.
Hindwings are brownish becoming darker towards the basal area with the
outer half orange-yellow with black markings. |

Overwinters as a cocoon in plant debris. |

July and August on trefoils and clovers. |

Day flying often settling for long periods. |

Woodland clearings and damp meadows. |
