FRUIT BODY: 0.5-3cm wide. Staring off has a closed growth with a rough uneven outer surface eventually opening into a hazel brown saucer with a petal-like lobing around the edges. The surface becomes more pallid when dry. GILLS/PORES: N/A. FLESH: Tough, no distinct smell or taste. SPORES: Creamy-white, smooth, cylindrical. HABITAT: In tight, obvious clusters on the branches of Hazel and less so Alder. SEASON: Uncommon. Spring to late autumn.   EDIBILITY: Inedible.
