| FRUIT BODY | 10 - 20cm in diameter. Medium fan-shaped bracked that usually grows in overlapping tiers. The upper surface is finely felted, uneven and white becoming slightly tan with age. |
| SPINES | The spines are of medium length and white and discolour pale tan when handled. |
| FLESH | White, thick and with a pleasant taste and smell. |
