CAP: 1 - 4cm in diameter.  White, smooth and silky starting flat becoming more expanded with prominent central umbo. Var. lilacina is similar but of a beautiful lilac colour with an ochraceous flush towards the centre. STIPE: White but in var. lilacina it is lilac with an ochraceous base. GILLS/PORES: White turning to clay, ochraceous in lilacina. FLESH: White flesh and unchanging - lilaceous in var. lilacina. Weak with earthy, mealy smell. SPORES: Snuff-brown. Almond shaped - less so in var. lilacina. HABITAT: Mixed woodland and pathsides. SEASON: Late summer to autumn. EDIBILITY: Poisonous.
