CAP 3 - 5cm in diameter.  The cap can range through violaceous tints to crimson brown. Pointed with a paler margin that gives a pleated appearance.
STIPE Concolorous with cap, fibrillose and glabrous.
GILLS/PORES Gills are spaced and pale pinkish with a brownish edge.
FLESH Watery and having no distinct odour or taste.
SPORES Strongly amyloid.
HABITAT Strictly on Pine Cones.
SEASON Uncommon. Late summer to autumn. 
EDIBILITY Inedible. r
