FRUIT BODY 1-3cm wide (per fruit body).  A resupinate lichen-like species that can be easily overlooked. The irregular patches formed are blue-grey with a violaceous tint and are usually extensive on the host branches. The surface is slightly warted and the edges well defined.

FLESH Greyish, thin and waxy.
SPORES Pink, cylindric and curved.
HABITAT On dead twigs and branches of deciduous trees.
SEASON Common.  Throughout the year.
EDIBILITY Inedible. r
