CAP 4 - 9cm in diameter.  A stunning mushroom with a cap that is dark brown, radially-streaked with tiny blackish scales that starts convex and becomes flatter with a broad umbo. Irregular ridges covered the surface.
STIPE Up to 9cm tall and concolorous with cap.
GILLS/PORES The gills are free and close starting white and gradually becoming pink with a dark brown edge.
FLESH White flesh and firm.
SPORES Pink. Sub-globose.
HABITAT Well rotted hardwood.
SEASON Autumn.
