| CAP | 3-5cm in diameter. Convex then partly expanded. Whitish buff, hygrophanous and drying almost white. |
| STIPE | Tough and compressed. Darker than cap and covered in fine white down. |
| GILLS/PORES | Gills are concolorous with cap and are adnexed and crowded. |
| FLESH | Very thin but tough in stem. No distinctive taste or odour. |
| SPORES | Hyaline, smooth, ellipsoid. |
| HABITAT | Grows in clusters or close troops in mixed woodland |
