DESCRIPTION
Approximately 20mm long this flat bodied beetle is entirely red except for the black legs and comb-like antennae.
BEHAVIOUR
Usually on flowers looking for their prey (smaller insects) which they catch and fly off with.
DISTRIBUTION
Throughout the UK.
HABITAT
Around flowers within or on the edges of woodland.
PERIOD
May to July.
