DESCRIPTION |
Approximately 20mm long this flat bodied beetle is entirely red except for the black legs and comb-like antennae. |
BEHAVIOUR |
Usually on flowers looking for their prey (smaller insects) which they catch and fly off with. |
DISTRIBUTION |
Throughout the UK. |
HABITAT |
Around flowers within or on the edges of woodland. |
PERIOD |
May to July. |
