DESCRIPTION Up to 12mm. Immature adults in late summer have red and purple markings whereas fully mature specimens that are reproductively viable in the spring have an overall yellowish-green look. The antennae are red and the sides of the abdomen are blue.
BEHAVIOUR Usually seen on Gorse but can be found on Broom and other legumes.
DISTRIBUTION

Common and local throughout.

HABITAT

Hedgerows, woodland edges, coastal or wherever foodplant is found.

PERIOD April to October.
