| DESCRIPTION | Length between 17 and 23mm. A short winged species with the visible forewings reaching 3 quarters of the way down the abdomen at most. A variably coloured species ranging from greens to browns to even purplish specimens. The pronotum is gently incurved. |
| BEHAVIOUR | The song is a series of 'chirrups' that last a few seconds each and are repeated at intervals. |
| DISTRIBUTION | Common throughout. |
| HABITAT | Short, open grassland with a tolerance of taller swards. |
| PERIOD | June to October. |
