| DESCRIPTION |
Wing length 16 - 20mm. A very common Ichneumon Wasp with the distinguishing identification factors being the general overall orange colouration, the dark eyes, the black tip to the flattened abdomen and most importantly the wing venation which is quite different from similar Ophion species. |
| BEHAVIOUR |
An ectoparasite of moth larvae and a frequent visitor to moth traps. The short ovipositor is capable of piercing human skin and causing a painful sting. |

Seen in gardens, parks, woodland hedges. |
