| DESCRIPTION | Up to 30mm long these stunning predators are always nice to turn-up with their black violet tinted colours. The fused wing cases are oval and flattened around the edges. |
| BEHAVIOUR | Nocturnal feeders living under loose bark and stones by day. Feeds on other insects and slugs. |
| DISTRIBUTION | Common throughout. |
| HABITAT | Generally woodlands, gardens or parks where there is plenty of places to seek refuge. |
