DESCRIPTION Up to 20mm. A native to North America that was introduced to Europe in 1999. This beautiful looking creature is easily identified by its size, richly coloured markings and expanded hind tibia.
BEHAVIOUR A busy creature always on the move except when on foodplant or basking in the sun.
DISTRIBUTION Widespread throughout and spreading.
HABITAT Pine woods and plantations but frequently seen around southern coasts.
PERIOD All year.
