| DESCRIPTION | Up to 35mm in length with chestnut coloured elytron. The abdomen has white markings along each side. Males have large, orange-brown fan-like antennae with 7 lamellae (see Fig 1). |
| BEHAVIOUR | Dusk flying. Attracted to light and carrion. Occasionally swarming. |
| DISTRIBUTION | Common throughout, more so in the South. |
| HABITAT | Woods, gardens and hedgerows. |
| PERIOD | May to June. |
