| DESCRIPTION |
Length between 15 and 19mm. A smart species whose main identifying feature is the sharp angled keels on the pronotum that have a black stripe running along each side that reaches the hind edge. The ground colour is a yellowish-brown and both sexes have a red tip to the abdomen. The hind tibia are red or yellow. The wings usually only reach to hind knees. |

The song is a bland 5 - 6 second sequence of similar scraping sounds. |

Rare and only found in Dorset and the New Forest. |
| HABITAT |
Found in heather on dry heathlands. |

July to October. |
