DESCRIPTION Length between 17 and 24mm.  The pale tipped clubbed antennae are distinct to this species and no confusion can be really made if these are noted.   Take care though in that older specimens the tips can become quite orange looking.  The ground colour is brownish and the side keels on the pronotum curve gently inwards.
BEHAVIOUR A species that can be difficult to locate despite hearing its call nearby. The song is a short 5 second buzz that gradually fades out.
DISTRIBUTION Far southern Britain only.
HABITAT Dry sunny areas around the edges of lush vegetation and scrub. 
PERIOD July to November.
