DESCRIPTION: A midge induced gall that is always a delight to find. Starting as a rounded outgrowth and becoming elongated and eventualy bell-shaped this gall can be quite numerous in the areas it occurs dependant if one looks hard enough. The shiny young galls are green in colour becoming more reddish if exposed to sunlight. Each gall becomes glossy brown as it matures and inside is found a single yellowish larvae. DISTRIBUTION: Occasional. HABITAT: Located in the axillary buds of Yarrow.
