| ADULT | Length - 9 - 20mm. Females always the larger of the two sexes. The body and cephalothorax are dark brown and oval with two opposite white lines running the entire length of the upper surface. |
| BEHAVIOUR | Sits on vegetation and awaits for nearby fish and tadpoles which it pulls from the water. Can walk on water and stay submerged for up to an a hour. |
| HABITAT | Wide ranging but very localised. |
| DISTRIBUTION | Preference for sphagnum bogs, pools and marshy areas with small areas of water. |
| PERIOD | All year round with summer the best time to see. |
