ADULT
Length of body and cephalothorax - 7 - 10mm. A variable species with a dark, distinct V-shape on the abdomen above which there a two pincer like markings. The body colour is a mixture of orangey-browns. The legs are alternately dark and light brown.
BEHAVIOUR Tends to frequent reeds or wooden walkways around small ponds.
HABITAT Frequent throughout becoming more localised northwards.
DISTRIBUTION Almost always around water especially reeded ponds.
PERIOD All year round.
